My alter ego? My muse? Who knows... from his initial appearance in the paintings for my first solo exhibition, 'The Harlequin's Mind Tour and Soul Rub', at Acanthus Gallery in Charlotte way back in 1991, the Harlequin has been a character who refuses to go away. Even after I painted 'Death of Harlequin' in a futile attempt to rid his enfluence on my art he found a way to work himself back into my creative process and was born again. Now I accept his presence and grant his wish to appear on canvas whenever he calls. I find it interesting that the times he does come calling are when I'm doing my most creative work.
